Convention Policy

-
What is considered convention space? Convention space is defined as all areas that are leased for the convention from the hotel. (Room/suites, event rooms, parking lots, etc.)
-
Nashum Fur Con reserves the right to collect information about our visitors’ emails and basic information to help make better communication with our attendees. (More information in our Privacy FAQ)
-
Any attendee found to have false information, up to or including payment information will be removed from the convention, and information will be handed over to Davidson County Metro Police for further action.
-
Any person who attempts to enter Nashum Fur Con without a badge can be banned from attending further conventions.
-
There is no sleeping in convention or hotel space. It is against the fire code for Davidson County and the hotel.
-
Fursuiters and attendees must respect the hotel and convention policies regarding areas where suites are and are not allowed.
-
Convention staff are attendees who have volunteered their time to make sure other attendees enjoy and have a great weekend. Most staff can be noticed through a special badge or shirt that is worn during the weekend.
Con Floor Etiquette

-
No nudity on the convention floor. If it isn’t appropriate for children to see, then please do not do it in public convention space. Remember there will be minors present. We ask that every person keeps an eye out, and if they see something please bring it up to staff. It keeps us all safe, and we want everyone to go home.
-
During normal convention hours, all clothing must be kept to PG 13. That includes clothing, accessories, fetish gear, or items that restrict mobility. Collars are all right to wear, but we ask no leashes to be attached to the collar while on the hotel or convention floor. Undergarments will not be allowed to be worn in a way for people to be able to see and will be asked to change immediately. For after-dark, please see the After Dark page.
-
Clothing may not be over-revealing or over-sexualized during normal convention hours.
-
Except in certain areas, shirts, pants/shorts/skirts, etc, and shoes must be always worn if not wearing a fursuit. Exceptions are the pool area and private hotel rooms. In any public space please be mindful of others.
-
Upper-body harnesses will be allowed on the convention floor but cannot have any other gear attached.
-
Clothing that symbolizes hate groups, gangs, political hate, terrorist organizations, religious hate, animal hate, or just deemed inappropriate will be asked to return to your room to change. We at Nashum Fur Con hold the right to have a convention space free of articles of hate or injustices.
-
Any props, toys, or accessories that have the capability of causing an injury, or damage to hotel property or attendees, or are just a security risk will not be permitted into the convention space.
-
Music not in panel rooms must be kept to a moderate level in open convention space and must not disrupt convention panels. If too loud, a staff member will ask the offender to reduce the music to a suitable level. If the person has been asked multiple times, then they will be asked to put away the music altogether.
-
Smoking is not allowed in the hotel or any convention space. If the hotel has designated smoking areas, please use those only.
-
Please do not disrupt panels or events. Be courteous of others, and the convention staff who have worked hard to put the convention together for you to enjoy. If asked multiple times to behave, Nashum Fur Con has the right to revoke membership and you will be asked to leave.
-
There will be no camping in the halls or lobby of the hotel. If an attendee is found to be sleeping in the public areas, they will be asked to go back to their hotel or be asked to leave if the attendee doesn’t have a room.
-
Please be mindful also of any physical contact with other attendees. Public forms of affection should be kept at an appropriate level of professionalism. If asking for any physical attention, please do ask for consent before touching the other person. Not everyone likes to be tackled or glomped out of nowhere. Respect yourself and other attendee’s personal space.
Service Animals and Pets

-
Service animals are welcome, and we do ask that you do not interact with them unless given strict permission from their handlers. If any harassment of a service animal or handler, the person doing the harassing will be asked to leave with their badge revoked with no refund.
-
Service animals must be leashed at all times in the convention space and on hotel property. If a service animal becomes a problem (barking, growling, roaming free away from the handler) to any attendee or other service animal, that service animal will be asked to be removed from the convention space for the duration of the convention. Nashum Fur Con follows the ADA guidelines with service animals, and we welcome anyone who has a service animal.
-
The handlers are responsible for any accidents that their animal causes. We ask please when you let your animal do their business, pick up after them. This is a hotel, not your house.
-
No animal other than service animals are allowed on hotel property and at the convention.
Smoking / E-Cigarettes / Juls

-
Smoking is not permitted inside the hotel at any time, cigarettes, e-cigarettes, or any other electronic device. Any minor found in possession of these will be confiscated and guardians will be notified. Smoking is permitted outside in the hotel's designated smoking areas.
-
Please be mindful of nonsmokers and stand at least 50 feet from any entrance. We want attendees to be comfortable.
Room Parties

-
The general rule for room parties is to be respectable to your neighbors. Remember you are not the only one in the hotel. If convention security has to settle down the room party more than once, the room party can be shut down. Remember there are quiet times for hotel guests.
-
Any and all room parties that are serving alcohol must by law check the ID of all entering the room. No one under 21 will be allowed in if alcohol is being served.
-
Convention staff members can check the ID of an attendee at any time of a room party to keep in compliance.
-
Entrance into room parties requires a convention badge. Since the room parties are in the convention hotel, all attendees need to show a convention badge. No ghosting.
-
18-plus room parties must have an ID and badge checker at all times. If it is found out that a minor has entered, the room party will be shut down and swift punishment will be handed down to everyone involved. We take the safety of minors seriously and wish that you will too.
-
Please keep the front of all badges free from any sticker collection. The convention staff use the badge as a way to keep track of attendees.
-
Any and all room damage will be the responsibility of the person to whom the reservation is made. Damages are not the responsibility of the convention.
-
Please clean up after yourselves. The hotel staff are not your maids, and we would like to come back for more years to come.
